The Best Ways to Use AI for SEO – The use of AI is obviously important in a lot of aspects of our lives right now. With the integration of artificial intelligence over the last couple of years, things have rapidly increased, and people are now using ChatGPT and other AI platforms as their sole search engine. There’s simply asking the question, and AI is delivering the answer, so if a lot of people are just using the AI overview as their answer, how can any business with a website hope to get leads and traffic?
AI For SEO:
The thing is, AI still uses the information it can find to provide the answer to the user or searcher. If there is no information, it drives the best answer it possibly can. The key is for you to be that answer. Even in the AI overview, there are links where you can go to the website that provided the answer for more information. This is where answering questions and using AI to generate those questions can really come in handy. Let’s talk about AI and SEO and the best way small businesses can use it without violating any rules or damaging their SEO tactics.
AI for Ideas
Because artificial intelligence search is the web and creates queries and data from what people are searching for, you can simply ask it what people are searching for in your industry. Using specific prompts is really the key to getting AI to do exactly what you want and provide the perfect answer. Sometimes, prompts can be 300 words or more simply to get the search engine started.
Ask AI what people are searching for in your industry. What people would want to know about your industry and how you can answer those questions. You can literally tell ChatGPT to give you a prompt that would provide you the best answer. I know this sounds funny, but here is a good prompt if you want to find out what people are searching for in your area when it comes to your landscaping business.
“Pretend you are a homeowner with a lot of landscaping issues to be done. What would be a good prompt to give you to find out what people are searching for and what to write about?”
This can give you a good idea of the prompt but you can also simply ask ” imagine you are a homeowner and you have a lot of landscaping issues to contend with. Maybe you just moved into a new house and you need all new landscaping or landscaping design. What kind of information would you Google or questions to ask to find a good landscaper or answers to your questions?”
Using AI to give you the right prompt and the right information so that you can provide that information to your readers is a key to showing up under AI overview and eventually getting people to your website.
AI for Outlines
Okay, you’ve asked AI to provide you with some queries and questions but now what do you do with the information? This is where I can provide you with an outline of headers and pointers. Have it draw up an actual outline of a really good blog post, article, or landing page that answers the questions people are searching for. Don’t let it write the entire article for you, just use it as an outline on the best way to lay everything out.
AI For Direction
AI for SEO is also good at giving you a game plan for your business. A good prompt for that would be:
“Imagine you are a social media expert when it comes to marketing real estate. What would a good daily, weekly, and monthly plan be for marketing my real estate business on social media? What type of information would people want to see and how often should I post?”
This can give you a great schedule to stick with on being a social media expert in your field.
AI for Socials
AI for SEO is great for coming up with Jingles, slogans, sayings, and social media posts to promote the information that you’ve provided. It can quickly give you a layout with a spot for a link, emojis, and hashtags ready to go.
A good prompt for this would be: “ I am going to give you an entire article and I want you to come up with a social media post for Facebook Etc LinkedIn Etc with hashtags, a space for the link, and a really good tagline to draw someone into the post. Make sure you include hashtags and any contact information.”
This is the type of post that you’re likely to get:

AI for Schema and Code
AI for SEO is also great for creating codes and schema. We have a great schema generator that we created with AI agent that perfectly creates the schema for any page, blog post, article, or FAQ. However, AI can create specific schema code that you can simply add to each page of your website.
Perhaps there’s some code that you need for a table or CSS. AI is great at coming up with a code as long as you know how to prompt it and explain exactly what you want.
AI is definitely a great resource for helping with SEO and marketing your business; however, what I would not use it for is to completely write up a blog post and use it word for word. This is where AI will definitely detect other AI, and you might actually get penalized for it. Using AI for suggestions come outlines, social posts, coding, and figuring out how to market your business is really the best way to use AI for SEO purposes. Having it do everything for you is not what the actual searcher is looking for.
